What is Teen Patti?

Teen Patti is played with a standard 52-card deck. Every player is dealt three cards, and the goal is to have the strongest three-card hand — or to make the other players fold before the cards are shown. Each round starts with a small forced stake called the boot, which forms the opening pot, and play goes around with players betting or folding until the hand is decided.

Hand rankings (strongest to weakest)

1. Trail / Trio — three cards of the same rank (e.g. three Aces). The strongest hand.
2. Pure Sequence — three consecutive cards of the same suit.
3. Sequence (Run) — three consecutive cards, not all the same suit.
4. Colour — three cards of the same suit, not in sequence.
5. Pair — two cards of the same rank.
6. High Card — none of the above; the highest single card counts.

When two players have the same type of hand, the higher cards win. A Trail of Aces is the best possible hand.

Blind vs seen play

You can play blind — betting without looking at your cards — or seen, after viewing them. A blind player usually stakes less per turn, while a seen player bets more. Playing blind keeps your hand hidden and your cost low; playing seen lets you decide based on what you actually hold.
